At the Haworth Water Treatment Plant, UWNJ replaced the existing anhydrous ammonia water treatment with a new system using liquid ammonium sulfate, enhancing the safety of the facility. Alternatives were evaluated by BS&J. The existing PAC facilities were relocated into new PAC storage silos and feed system installed near the point of PAC treatment application. The relocation of the PAC allowed that space to be repurposed for ammonium sulfate storage and feed. BS&J designed, permitted, and provided engineering services during construction for the PAC and ammonium sulfate improvements. At all times during construction, testing and start-up, continuous operation of the water treatment plant was maintained.
