UWNJ sought to replace existing 8 inch and 10 inch diameter surge relief valves at a 15 million gallons per day (MGD) firm capacity pumping station and add a 10 inch diameter surge relief valve at another 10 MGD firm capacity pumping station. In addition, permanent lines were installed for temporary pump connections at both stations to provide portable pump backup for the station permanent pumps. BS&J designed and provided engineering services during construction for these improvements.
