BS&J provided hydraulic modeling, design, and startup assistance associated with implementation and testing of improved surge relief capabilities and two utility powered and two diesel driven temporary pumping units both with variable speed drives at the SWNJ Hillside and Fairview Pumping Stations. These facilities serve densely populated areas in eastern Bergen County, NJ. This additional pumping capacity and special provisions for pressure and surge relief allowed the Englewood Cliffs Tank to be removed from service May through September 2016 for repairs and to be cleaned and painted.
